Tamir Rice was born on June 25, 2002 in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of four children. Tamir loved to be with his brothers and sisters, and had a smile that would brighten any room. He was the glue keeping his family together with laughter and joy.
Tamir’s last school was Marion C. Seltzer, where he was in the 6th grade. He enjoyed helping out wherever he was needed; children and staff all loved him.
Tamir enjoyed basketball, soccer, music, dancing, riding his bicycle, video games and had an exceptional love for arts and crafts.
On November 22, 2014, he was murdered by two Cleveland police officers while playing in a park with a toy gun. Tamir’s story garnered national outrage and and has inspired police reform across the country.
